The Canon EOS 1D X Mark II is the latest flagship camera by Canon. Its lineage and price tag makes it clear that it is aimed for the professional photographers and videographers. 4K Video Recording
Video shooters will also find Canon EOS 1D X Mark II useful as it offers the ability to capture 4K video at a smooth 60fps. Though 4K video has been around for a little while but is the first time, it appeared on a stills-oriented Canon DSLR. Also, it records 4K video at 60fps which requires serious processing power and allows you to record smooth slow motion footage. The Mark II shoots ‘real’ 4 at 4,096 x 2,160 pixels. For video capture, Motion JPEG format is supported as it stores a full image for each frame of data and allow extraction of 8.8-megapixel stills.
Pricing and Availability
Canon has priced EOS 1D X Mark II at $5,999 for the body-only. The company is also offering a Premium Kit which costs $6,299 and will come with a 64GB CFast memory card and a card reader. The camera is available for pre-order and is expected to begin shipping to dealers in US this coming April.
