According to the new data, Snapchat users on an average spend about 30 minutes on the app every day. The users are not just watching videos from their friends or videos on Snapchat that disappear after a few seconds; but are also spending as half-hour every day.
The popular photo messaging service is now pitching advertisers about the amount of time people spend within the app each day. According to the report from Business Insider, the app’s daily active users spend an average of 25 to 30 minutes every day using Snapchat. Also, from these Snapchat users which are over 100 million in total, around 60 percent or so are actively creating new content on the app.
Snapchat wants attention of more television advertisers by showing them how addicted its users are to the app.
According to a Nielsen study commissioned by Snapchat, Snapchat reaches around 41 percent of all 18-34 year-olds in the United States. And according to the same survey, the top 15 television networks in US only reach six percent of 18-34 years age. Thus, Snapchat successfully reaches young people and they are spending a lot of time on the app as well. As per the survey conducted by Variety, polling 1117 people between ages of 13-24, only 23% of respondents said they look at Discover and Live Stories daily.
Though Snapchat has not done much in the way of advertising, but now the app, with these impressive figures, aims to become an alternative to TV ads. The company has started to embrace the statistics and measurements ad buyers need to make investment.
