Tambour Horizon: Luxurious Smartwatch
Louis Vuitton is the latest luxury brand to enter the wearable tech market with the launch of first smartwatch: Tambour Horizon. It is a drum shaped device and is a part of Vuitton’s Tambour collection. Tambour Horizon features a 1.2-inch 390 x 390 AMOLED touchscreen underneath a sapphire crystal. The watch is available online and in Louis Vuitton stores starting at prices of $2450. Let’s have a look at its features:
Display and Design
Tambour Horizon features a 1.2-inch circular AMOLED display and is surrounded by 24-hour dial ring. This allows easy access to time zones for major cities around the world. The watch offers a 42mm stainless steel case. The watch comes in three different case styles and one can customize it with 60 interchangeable strap options. In addition, one can download a range of digital watch faces. It features luxury look and feel to the wearers. The wearer can create myriad custom dials and many featuring design elements as well. The company is all-set to attract well-off fashionistas and is ready to compete against Apple Inc. Louis Vuitton is adding some custom watch faces depending on the existing product lineup along with some flight-tracking and city guide features.
Processor and Storage
The smartwatch runs Google’s Android operating system. It offers Android wear functions such as pedometer and notifications for calls, emails and messages in addition to alarms, timers and more. It is powered by Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor along with 512MB of RAM. The smartwatch houses 4GB of internal storage in addition to a 300mAh battery.
The Tamour Horizon is $2,450 for Graphite or Monogram model and $2900 for the Black model. Each comes on a black rubber strap embossed with Louis Vuitton Paris. Though it is more expensive than $1600 Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 Smartwatch but when compared to Louis Vuitton watches, Tambour Horizon is the most affordable.
