Google is taking another shot at building a successful network with complete redesigning of Google+. Yes, Google has redesigned Google+ with amazing new features and here are the details.

Redesigned Google+

The newly redesigned Google+ focuses on two key features that have turned out to be user favorites. In the official blog post, Google says that after pulling in feedback from users, it has decided to focus around two key features: communities and collections. The new design and experience is opt-in at first, and has started rolling out.

Collections

Collections is a way to let users gather a bunch of content together around a single idea. They can then share it with other users. The new version rolling out on web, iOS and Android allows you to opt-in if you are viewing it from your browser. It will also be focusing on finding topics that interest you and meeting people across the internet with similar interests.

Communities

Google’s social network launched Communities in 2012 as venues to connect people based on things or ideas they are passionate about. Director of Streams, Eddie Kessler, said in a blog post that an average of 1.2 million people join Communities daily. On the other hand, Google+ Collections was launched in May 2015 as a way to group posts by topics. Kessler said, “These are the places on Google+ where people around the world are spending their time discovering and sharing things they love.”

Responsive Google+

In addition to announcement of redesigned new features, the new Google Plus is also much easier to use as it has been made responsive across desktop mobile devices, keeping a familiar aesthetic across all devices. It has been made completely responsive implying that it now adapts itself to the screen on which you view its webpages. When accessing on a PC, it stretches out to the fullest, giving you a comfortable viewing experience while accessing it on a tablet, it uses a refreshed interface to offer easy access.

Google also announced that it is redesigning the all new Google +. There will be no page on Google+ requiring download of more than 60kb of HTML, JavaScript or CSS each. So, even with a choppy mobile network, you will find the pages to be faster and leaner as minimal data is exchanged between device and Google’s server.

The new features are available on an opt-in basis. So, just sign in and click the “Let’s Go” link prompted.
