Meet LG V20
LG is unveiling the first smartphone that comes shipped with Google’s new Android Nougat. Though Nougat is available as a free upgrade on some Google phones under Nexus brand but LG V20 is the first one that comes with Nougat already installed. In addition to Android Nougat, the phone also promises higher-quality audio playback and recording with reduced background noise.
“The LG V20 is designed to offer customers a more dynamic experience by building on the most popular video and audio features of the V series,” said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company. “With the LG V20, we are giving our customers more of everything they love and less of anything they don’t need to set a new standard for premium smartphones.”
In terms of design, LG V20 has improved a lot as compared to its predecessor LG V10. It sports a full metal body with no modular chin. The phone houses a fingerprint sensor at the back. The company also claims that it has passed the MIL-STD 810G Transit Drop Test for additional durability. It is a light smartphone with just 7.6mm thickness and weighs about 174 grams.
With LG V20, the company brings the tiny secondary display on the top of the screen. The second screen is similar to the one sported in LG V10 but now, it is twice bright and font size is also 50 percent larger. In addition, a new feature called Expandable Notifications is also there. The main display features a 5.7-inch QHD display having resolution of 1440×2560 pixels.
The LG V20 is the world’s first smartphone that features a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC. This premium flagship has been designed to provide users with the best video and audio experience. The HD Audio Recorder lets you capture studio quality audio with dynamic frequency range. LG has collaborated with B&O Play, the company has further enhanced audio functions and design.
Speaking of the cameras, LG has moved the dual-camera approach to the backside instead of the front. The rear of the phone includes both a standard angle 16MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and an optical image stabilization in addition to an 8MP camera with a f/2.8 aperture. At the front, there’s a 5MP front camera with a 120-degree lens to expand the selfie experience. The Auto Shot Function on the front camera lets one capture perfect selfies with face detection features. You need not to press the shutter button.
LG V20 is powered by 1.6GHz quad-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It houses 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD card. It is powered by 3200mAh battery. It comes with mobile user interface LG UX 5.0 to easily use the multimedia functions. It will be available in Titan, Silver and Pink color variants.
