Sony India has unveiled its digital noise cancelling headphones in India called Sony MDR-100ABN wireless headphones. These hi-re Bluetooth headphones use the noise cancellation technology to negate outside audio. It was first showcased at CES 2016. These over the head-dome style headsets cover the ears with its ear cups to cancel any outside noise.

Noise Cancellation Technology

The most noteworthy feature of these Sony MDR-100ABN wireless headphones is the noise cancellation tech. They promise to offer uncompromised sound and artificial intelligence noise cancelling according to the user surroundings. These headphones come with noise cancellation built-in which makes them a right companion for flights or other purposes. Sony uses a 40mm dynamic driver to bring the best audio performances. Also, these have been designed in such a manner so as to ensure that there’s no gap when you wear them.

Incredible Performance

The device has LDAC, an audio coding technology for transmission of High-Resolution Audio at transfer rate of 990 kbps. As per Sony, “LDAC supports several transmission rates according to wireless environment. It allows you to enjoy High-Resolution Audio content in exceptional sound quality by transmitting at the maximum transfer rate of 990 kbps (approximately three times more data than conventional Bluetooth® audio).”

Good Battery Life

Though the headphones are wireless, they also come with a 1.2m cable when you prefer wired connectivity. You can use them with the smartphone, PC, laptop, tablet, iPod etc. Sony MDR-100ABN wireless headphones weigh around 290 grams and come with a built-in battery which Sony claims to offer up to 20 hours of music playback. You can charge the headphones using a standard USB charger.

In wired mode, the headphones in frequency response deliver 5Hz – 40,000Hz and in wireless mode reach up to 20Hz – 40,000Hz. The headphones have NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and volume controller as well. It will compete with Bose QuietComfort series which are popular in the sub Rs.25,000 segment.

It is available in black color and has a price tag of Rs. 21,990.
