Samsung has finally shared the availability details of its Gear S3 smartwatches in US. It is available for pre-order now and the shipping starts November 18. Samsung Gear S3 is available in two variants: Classic and Frontier. These smartwatches are priced at $349.99 and come with a wave of new features as compared to the predecessor. Specifications and Details
Samsung Gear S3 features a sophisticated design and comes with IP68 water and dust resistance features. It has military-grade durability to provide protection against scratches and extreme temperatures. Both Classic and Frontier smartwatches come with a 1.3-inch 360×360 circular super AMOLED touchscreen. These are powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor along with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. They are protected by a Gorilla Glass SR plus protection. As compared to Gear S2, both smartwatches are larger with 46mm diameters. They also come with a traditional sports look. They have stainless steel cases that are waterproof up to 5 meters for 30 minutes. Also, both have a rotating bezel just like the S2 watch. The Frontier model comes with 4G LTE connectivity.
Battery and Samsung Pay Compatibility
According to Samsung, the battery should last for 3 to 5 days on a single charge. It houses 380mAh battery which is double the size of 250-300mAh in Gear S2 watches. There’s also a power saving mode that kicks in when the watch has 15 percent battery left. In addition, there’s also a watch-only mode that shows the time to save battery.
The watches are support Samsung Pay and allow you to easily make payments with your watch almost anywhere with just a swipe or tap of credit card. Both run Tizen based wearable OS and has over 10,000 apps. The smartwatch comes in a variety of watch straps as well.
The built-in GPS offers you to keep track of your activities and make it easy to share your location. The S Health app makes it simple to track activity and heart rate and also allow you to set goals and check leaderboards.
