Apple New AirPods
One of the surprise announcements at Apple’s iPhone event was the introduction of AirPods. These all-new earphones are completely wireless. The new AirPods have specially been designed for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with a brand new wireless chip. Apple new AirPods are the wireless version of its popular white earbuds. They will go on sale in October at the price of $159. Apple describes it as “innovative new wireless headphones that use advanced technology to reinvent how we listen to music, make phone calls, enjoy TV shows and movies, play games and interact with Siri.”
W1 Chip
They feature a processor inside called as W1. The W1 chip inside each AirPod helps them to do a lot of neat stuff and it makes pairing to iPhone easier. You just need to flip open the case and a window will pop up prompting you to pair AirPods to the iPhone. In addition, W1 Chip also allows you to better manage power. The new W1 chip uses regular Bluetooth for connectivity and this new chip resides inside the new AirPod headphones. They can wirelessly and seamlessly connect to iCloud-connected devices such as iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Battery Life
It will have a five-hour battery life. The charging cradle gives an additional 24 hours of life. According to the company, the 15 minutes of charge time gives you three hours of listening time and thus, 30 minutes are enough to fully charge them.
Built-in Accelerometers
The Apple new AirPods detect automatically when they are in your ear and can also tell your iPhone in case you are wearing one AirPod at a time. They have accelerometers to sense that you are talking and they work to filter out the background noise. Also, the microphones will pick up your voice for both phone calls and using Siri. It is very easy to activate Siri. For example, double tap AirPod and start talking.
Other Details
The Apple new AirPods connect to your iPhone via Bluetooth. These can be conveniently kept inside a charging case when they are not in use. You can use the AirPod to listen to music, take calls, and more. When someone calls your iPhone and your AirPods are in your ear, the call will automatically re-route to the earphones. As far as the dimensions are concerned, they are 16.5 millimetres x 18 millimetres x 40.5 millimetres.
They come with a price tag of $159 which many may find outside their headphone budget. Thankfully, there are many other useful wireless headphones available in the market today.
